I am a passionate believer that Processwire CMS is way superior to wordpress in almost every way. This being said I also remember a youTube plugin for Wordpress that did similar things to this so I set about developing this module for my own use initially.

How it started
The Challenges
The main challenge to this was to try do this without the need for delving into API's and such. Just feed a URL and go! So afer a lot of research and some head scratching I was able to get this little gem to do the following.
- Get a video ID from a full URL
- Embed from url in a block of text (php string)
- Get video thumbnail
- Get latest video from a given channel ID
